Grouping Wheel
Spin to sort students into random groups — no arguments about who is with whom.
Put your group numbers, colors or topics on the wheel and let each student spin for their group. It is quick, fair and fun to watch on the classroom TV. Remove a slot each time it is picked to keep groups even, or use the random team generator to split a whole list at once.
How to make random groups with the wheel
1. Add one slot per seat
For even groups, add each group name once for every member it needs (e.g. “Group 1” eight times). The “Groups 1–4” preset does this for a class of 32.
2. Each student spins
Call students up one at a time — or use the recitation wheel to pick who spins next — and write down their group.
3. Remove each picked slot
Remove the slot after every spin so groups fill evenly and nobody ends up in an overfull group.

How do I keep the groups the same size?
Add each group name as many times as it has members, and remove the slot after it is picked. When a group is full, its name is gone from the wheel.
